BSWB - Covid-19 Safety Recommendations
There are currently no mandates regarding the use of masks in youth sports in Kern County. However, research has shown that wearing masks may help reduce the spread of Covid. It is recommended that players, while not actively playing in the field, wear a mask when in close-quarter areas such as dugouts, restrooms, etc. It is also recommended that face coverings be worn while in crowded spectator areas.
Anyone with medical conditions, respiratory issues, or under the age of 2 should consult their physician for guidelines for wearing masks.
If your player or anyone in your household are showing any of the below symptoms please consult your physician, do not attend games, and follow quarantining guidelines.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include subjective or measured fever (>100.4°F or 38°C), chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
It is the parent’s responsibility to make sure their players are following any recommended guidelines they feel will protect their player from Covid. Managers, Coaches, Umpires, and BSWB Board Members will not “police/enforce” these guidelines.
